Palmer swapped Manchester City for Chelsea in a £42.5 million ($54m) deal last summer and scored a whopping 25 goals and 15 assists in all competitions. He was one of the Blues' few success stories last term and the fact he is on a contract until 2030 puts them in a strong position to keep onto his services.

The report adds that England international Palmer is on just over a quarter of what team-mate Raheem Sterling earns at Stamford Bridge. The 22-year-old featured a lot more regularly than the former City man last term, too.

Palmer played a big role in England reaching the final of Euro 2024 and scored in their 2-1 defeat to tournament winners Spain last week. Now, he is off on his summer holidays and will not head with the Chelsea squad to the United States next week for their pre-season tour – so that he can rest.
